Prostate Cancer UK – Invitation to those diagnosed with low risk localised prostate cancer

We are currently working with NHS England to consider the possibility of giving men more time to decide their treatment options if they have been diagnosed with low risk localised prostate cancer.

To make sure that the patient voice is heard on this matter we would like to invite a group of men, or partners of men, who have been diagnosed with low risk localised prostate cancer to a meeting (either virtually or in person) to discuss their thoughts. This will be held on 21st February 2pm until 4pm in our London offices here in London Bridge, Tooley St.

In particular, we are looking for men or partners/carers of men who:

•            Are currently receiving active surveillance

•            Opted against active surveillance and had a good treatment experience with surgery, radiotherapy or brachytherapy

•            Have any regrets over their choice of treatment

We have written a short blog about this also, more info can be found here: https://prostatecanceruk.org/about-us/projects-and-policies/giving-men-more-time-to-choose

If any of this applies to you and you are interested and able to help, then please get in touch with lizzie.ellis@prostatecanceruk.org  by 10th Feb 2020.
