The Men’s Shed Social Activity Group was formed in November 2018 and is now based at Leapgate Farm off Wilden Lane, Stourport. The aim is to offer members of the Kidderminster & Worcester Prostate Cancer Support Group an opportunity to met socially and engage in activities that are designed to reduce the issues of anxiety and stress that are sometimes associated with the diagnosis of prostate cancer. As with most activities this year, Covid 19 has put a damper on what we had planned. Apart from our monthly meetings we have previously arranged outings, to a local brewery, RAF Cosford and we were planning a coach trip to the National Memorial Arboretum prior to lockdown.
At the Farm we have the use of a fully equipped woodworking workshop, an allotment, a cafe, and a newly completed community centre building that we propose using for the Support Group’s committee meetings and events when the current restrictions are lifted.
We have now been offered a much larger allotment at the Farm just under a quarter of an acre. There is no heavy lifting work involved as the plot will be mechanically rotivated for us.
Any member wishing to join the current group whether just for a coffee and a chat at our monthly meetings or getting involved at the allotment, will be more than welcome. The venue is free to all members. For more information please contact:
