Gordon Kingston

Gordon spent his whole career in rural development, undertaking representational duties at senior management level for MAFF and Defra.

After retirement in 2005 as the Defra Regional Rural Director for Yorkshire and the Humber he chaired Pennine Prospects, the Rural Regeneration Company for the South Pennines and also sat on a number of regional Voluntary Sector boards and committees.

In 2007 he moved to Worcestershire and is Treasurer for Community First (the Voluntary sector body for Herefordshire & Worcs), a local parish footpath warden for a couple of parishes and a founding member of the South Worcs Prostate Cancer Support Group. Diagnosed belatedly with prostate cancer in 2006, he now tries to help others who are affected.
